In general, Ready Logistics delivers shorter moves in less than a week and longer (coast to coast) moves in one to two weeks. Weather, traffic, road conditions and other unforeseen factors make guaranteeing the delivery date impossible for all transportation companies. One thing RAT can guarantee is that your transportation specialist will be working very diligently to make sure your vehicle is delivered within the specified time they quote you as well as keep you informed every step of the way.
Typically Ready Logistics needs just a few days prior to your vehicle being available to arrange for pick-up. Regardless of your order date and pick-up date your RAT transportation specialist will do everything they can to meet the estimated delivery date.
Under normal circumstances we pick up your vehicle within 2-5 days of the order date. Depending on available carriers in your area at the time you order, it could be less or a little more. Either way your estimated delivery date should not be affected by the date it is picked up.
Absolutely NOT! Ready Logistics provides door to door service at the pick-up and drop-off location on all orders at no additional charge. This may be your residence or place of business. Beware of companies that want you to drop your vehicle off at their holding facilities. Typically these locations are in remote areas and tend to be in unsafe places where your vehicle may be at risk of theft and vandalism.
With RAT, your vehicle will typically stay on the same truck from time of pick-up to delivery. Be careful of transport companies that want you to drop off your vehicle at a holding facility. Typically this is a sign that your vehicle will be moved by multiple trucks as they take them from one holding facility to another throughout the move.
Most transport trucks are very long and wide, which makes it impossible to reach all residential areas due to narrow roads, trees, power lines, etc. The driver will attempt to get as close as possible to the pick-up and delivery location but may need to arrange a convenient location, like a shopping center or major street crossing to pick up or deliver your vehicle.
You may arrange to have a friend, relative or co-worker take delivery of your vehicle. Please make sure this person is aware that an inspection is performed and a contract bill of lading must be signed.
Prices are determined by distance, size and operability of your vehicle, as well as your choice to use an open or enclosed carrier. All of the quotes you receive from Ready Logistics are for door-to-door service and include full insurance. Unlike most transport companies, we will not charge any additional fees for door-to-door service, insurance, fuel surcharges, etc. From RAT, you receive one all-inclusive price right up front that includes all fees.
Larger vehicles take up much more space on a transport truck than traditional passenger vehicles. Because of their dimensions these vehicles take up the amount of space normally used for two vehicles, thus resulting in the need for an incremental increase in the fee. Full-size Trucks, Vans & SUV’s along with various other vehicles fit into this category.
We gladly accept any one of the following payment methods: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover. Or, for express checkout, you may also use your PayPal account. We require one payment up front that is 100% refundable if you cancel prior to us scheduling a carrier. Once your vehicle has been scheduled with a carrier, you may still cancel any time prior to pick-up for a full refund less a cancellation fee of up to $250. You will never have to give any money to our driver at time of delivery.
On an Open Carrier your vehicle is exposed to inclement weather and road conditions just as it is when you are driving it yourself. On an Enclosed Carrier your vehicle is not subjected to inclement weather or road conditions. It should arrive in the same condition it was in when you backed it out of your garage. To obtain a quote using an enclosed carrier, please call us directly at 1-877-558-3205 or email sales@ReadyLogistics.com.
We recommend against this as the Federal and State Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations prohibit the transport of household items in vehicles being transported by auto carriers. These items are also not covered by carrier's insurance. Any damage to your vehicle due to household goods shifting or breaking is also not covered. Personal belongings left in the vehicle are shipped strictly at the owner's risk. Carriers will not inventory any belongings left in the vehicle and will assume no responsibility. Items packed in the vehicle will also add weight that may cause damage to the vehicle. If you still feel the need to put personal items in your vehicle (Not Household Items) you must limit them to less than 100 lbs and confine them to the trunk area. Under NO circumstances can the car contain firearms, hazardous materials, illegal substances, or contraband.
It is recommended to leave between 1/8 and 1/4 tank of fuel in your vehicle. However, we will transport it with any amount.
Yes, but it must be noted at the time you place the order. If your vehicle is not operable, an inoperable fee of $150 will be added to the transport cost.
Oversized vehicles have any one or more of the following: dual rear wheels, lift kits (body or suspension), oversized wheels or tires and roof racks. A standard oversized vehicle fee of $200 will be imposed. Vehicles with oversized characteristics beyond the ones stated and commercial vehicles will have an additional fee imposed depending on the level they are oversized.
Absolutely! Your vehicle is fully insured during transit by general carrier liability insurance. All of our trucks are fully insured with most of them carrying up to 1 million dollars of liability insurance. Acts of God (hail, floods, hurricanes, avalanches, etc), along with road debris that can cause minor damage to windshields, paint and undercarriages (just like when you are driving down the highway) are not covered. Oil drips onto convertible tops are not covered by the carrier's insurance. Our customers rarely report damage due to road debris even on open carriers. However, if this is of great concern to you, we are able to arrange for your vehicle to be transported in an enclosed carrier for an additional fee.
YES. Ready Logistics holds license #MC-595726-B from the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Make sure the driver understands that the damage is new and was not on the original bill of lading. The new damage must be documented on the bill of lading that you sign at the time of delivery. All damage should noted and marked clearly and then signed for by the driver. You must place a call to your transportation specialist at Ready Logistics within 24 hours of vehicle delivery. We will ask you to submit both bills of lading along with two estimates in writing from an authorized repair shop. We will facilitate the arbitration with our carrier.
Unless your vehicle is leaving the country all that is required for your shipment is a signature at the time of pick-up on the bill of lading.
You should receive a call from the carrier within 24 hours in advance of your pick-up date. The driver will arrive, review and inspect the vehicle, have you sign the bill of lading and load it on the truck. The reverse happens at the delivery location.
